FARMER'S MARKETS
Lebanon FM (Thursday, 4-7pm, Mid-May to Mid-October) Located in the parking lot next to Bicentennial Park at the corner of Mulberry and Cherry Streets. This our favorite market and the best one we’ve been to in the area.
–
Other Farmer’s Markets we have been to or are aware of:
There is typically a farmer’s market in every town, county, or region. This list is not all inclusive. Please take time to look for a market near you if these are not convenient.
(NOTE: We are not recommending these, but have included them because we believe eating local is better than supporting the global food system.)
The Morrow Market (Last or 2nd to last Saturday of each month, May-October, 10am-3pm) Located @ the Morrow Arts Center in Morrow, OH. *This is more of an artisan/craft market, but they do have some food items.*
Clinton County/Wilmington (Saturday, 8:30am-Noon, May 10th-October 18th) Located @ the Clinton County Courthouse square in Wilmington, OH.
Deerfield/Mason (SUMMER Market: Saturday, 9am-Noon, May-October) Located @ 4188 Irwin Simpson Rd 45040, under the Kingswood Park Pavilion. *Also open for a WINTER market – see website for more info.
Goshen (New? Could not find a website or any information. Will add details as possible.)
Loveland (Tuesday, 3-6:30 pm, May-October) Located @ 174 Karl Brown Way.
West Chester (see website for more details, as they are open year-round – times and locations change based on season) *Typically, a Saturday market from 9am-1pm.
Hyde Park (Sunday, 9:30am-1pm, May-October) Located @ Hyde Park Square.
Blue Ash (Unable to find market website, information may be inaccurate): (Wednesday market, 3:30-7pm, May-October) Located @ Summit Park.
BULK MEAT
We have incredibly high standards when choosing our meat (although not perfect) and we try to ask our farmers a lot of questions. These are the exact suppliers we use, so they may not be the cheapest or most convenient. We will add more options as we try others in the area.
PIG/PORK: Walnut Ridge Acres (Clarksville, OH) – Antibiotic-free, pasture raised
They do not have a website (that we are aware of), but we’ve linked to a Facebook page. To test their meat out before commiting to a whole or half pig, they sell at the Clinton County Farmers market in Wilmington (Saturdays) and the Hyde Park Farmers market (Sundays).
COW/BEEF: Historic White Oak Farm (Morrow, OH) – Grassfed, Grass Finished
*Also, a wedding/event venue.
CHICKEN/FISH/OTHER MEATS: We are still in search of high-quality, local options. Currently, we buy from Wild Pastures, an online subscription. See our non-local recommendations page for more info and a link to their website.

We love help! Please email us with suggestions for alternative/better options for any of the above: hello@beslightlybetter.com
HERDSHARE (raw milk)
Arrowcrest Jerseys (Goshen, OH)
*Limited shares available
LOCAL RAW HONEY
Honeyrun Farm (Williamsport, OH)
They are a little farther North, toward Columbus, but the best quality and value for buying raw honey in bulk! They sell at several retail locations in and around Columbus as well. You can also pay to have it shipped directly to you if the drive is too long.
Information straight from their website:
Honey and Soap are available at our farmstand: 9642 Randle Road, Williamsport, OH 43164 – 7 days a week, dawn until dusk. This is a simple, rustic, self-serve farmstand that operates on the honor system.
FARMSTANDS & STOREFRONTS
The Black Barn* (Lebanon, OH): Garden Center & Produce
*Website would not function, so this is a Facebook link.
Here is their address and phone number:
1161 W Main St, Lebanon, OH, United States, Ohio
(513) 932-2093
They have great produce!
Blooms & Berries (Loveland, OH): Garden Center & Produce
*PLEASE NOTE: Not all produce is local to Ohio. Also, their produce is not quite at the standard we prefer, but they do offer bulk options for select produce.
We love coming here for fresh-ground peanut butter, local eggs, and other baked goods. We buy bulk Michigan blueberries from them, as well as bulk pickling cucumbers.
That Guy’s Family Farm (Clarksville, OH): Produce & Flowers
They also sell at the Deerfield farmers market.
RESTAURANTS
Harvester Farm to Table Restaurant and Coffee Lounge* (Blanchester, OH)
*No website, this is a link to their Facebook page.
Description straight from the owners: A Non-Profit, Farm to Table Resturant, Coffee Shop, Farmers Market + Community Outreach! Using all organic, local ingredients + prioritizing supporting local farms!
They also own a natural foods store across the street: The Greenhouse Bus Mercantile.
Kala Coffeehouse (Mason, OH)
Great local food option & great drink menu. They support a lot of local, small businesses.
Closed Sundays – Affliated with a local church
Hidden Valley Orchards (Lebanon, OH)
Cute outdoor venue with a restaurant, taproom, bakery, and local music.
Open Thursday-Sunday
OTHER LOCAL SHOPS WE LIKE
Common Cents Coins & Collectibles (Milford, OH) Great place to buy and sell Gold and Silver.
Lebanon Peddler’s Mall (Lebanon, OH) *This link leads to the general website for all peddler’s malls. There are 18 locations across IN, KY, OH, and WV. Here is a direct link to the Lebanon location’s Facebook page.
We love going here mostly for DVD’s and children’s toys, but there are tons of great local and used items!
LOCAL WEATHER
Ryan Hall, Y’all – This is by far the best weather reporter for extreme weather (tornados, hurricanes, severe thunderstorms, flooding, etc.). He is out of Eastern Kentucky, but he has storm chasers that go all over the midwest. He also has cameras set up in KY, OH, and possible TN and IN (maybe more).
He has alerted us to coming tornado threats well before our local sirens were set off, so he is a great resource to keep you safe!
